There are two main types of pressure washers, and they’re setting up procedure is somewhat different. Electrical pressure washers require an electrical power outlet, while gas-powered pressure washers require fuel. We will discuss both of the methods in detail.

Hooking Up An Electrical Pressure Washer

An electrical pressure washer is more straightforward than a gasoline pressure washer but generates less pressure. To hook up an electrical pressure washer, you have to:

  • Connect the high-pressure hose to the water outlet of the pressure washer. The high-pressure hose comes with the pressure washer. Make sure that you are connecting it at the right place and securing it well.
  • Now attach the garden hose to the inlet of the pressure washer and tighten it. It is better to use the garden hose with a couple attachments. Make sure that the connection is tight and secure.
  • Attach the spray wand to the spray gun and twist it to tighten it. Make sure to use the suitable nozzle or tip at the end of the spray wand.
  • Connect the spray gun to the outlet of the high-pressure hose and tighten it.

  • Connect the plugin to the outlet and turn it on.
  • The pressure washer is now ready to use.

A gas-powered pressure washer can produce significantly higher pressure than an electric pressure washer, but it is more challenging to hook up. To hook up a gas-powered pressure washer, follow these steps:

  • Now fill the fuel tank with the suitable fuel. Small pressure washers use gasoline, and high-power commercial pressure washers runs on  diesel.
  • Attach the high-pressure hose to the outlet of the pressure washer and tighten it. Make sure that the connection is secured completely.
  • Connect the spray wand to the spray gun and twist it to tighten it. Now attach the end of the high-pressure hose to the spray gun and secure the connection by compressing it.
  • Directly connect the garden hose to the garden tap, and use the threaded coupler if applicable. Turn on the tap to remove debris or dirt from the garden hose.
  • Now connect the garden hose to the inlet of the pressure washer.
  • Pressure the trigger on the spray gun and turn on the garden tap to remove any impurity.
  • Now turn the engine choke to the choke position and pull the string to start the engine. Adjust the throttle at optimum levels of the pressure washer.
  • The pressure washer is now ready to use and clean.
